# Tokenize Mortgages

Tokenize newly originated or existing mortgage assets through Stable's institutional workflow.

## Mortgage assets, ready for onchain settlement

Stable enables brokers, lenders, banks, funds, and other approved institutions to originate, fund, tokenize, and manage mortgage assets through digital infrastructure. Institutions can use Stable's origination platform or integrate Stable into an existing loan origination system.

{% hint style="info" %}
Tokenization does not replace underwriting, title, legal, servicing, or regulatory requirements. Stable coordinates the digital asset layer with the documentation and verification required for each mortgage.
{% endhint %}

## New and existing mortgages

**New originations** can be tokenized from origination through Stable's platform or an integration with an approved partner's loan origination software.

**Existing mortgages** held by a broker, bank, fund, or other eligible institution can be submitted for review, tokenization, and access to Stable's liquidity network.

## Tokenization workflow

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Enter mortgage details

Submit the property address and relevant mortgage documentation. Stable combines multiple data sources to create an initial asset record and asks the submitting institution to confirm key details.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Create the asset page

Once details are confirmed, Stable creates a dedicated asset page. The page presents the mortgage's key attributes and provides an interface for managing the tokenized asset throughout its lifecycle.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Verify ownership and prepare documents

The submitting party verifies ownership of the mortgage and its ownership structure. Stable then prepares the required legal documents for the relevant jurisdiction. Having complete mortgage records available helps avoid delays.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Sign and notarize

Required documents are signed and notarized. This can be completed in person or through supported remote online notarization providers where available.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Receive the tokenized asset

After verification and execution are complete, an NFT is minted to represent the mortgage asset. The approved asset can then be submitted to Stable for eligible liquidity and settlement workflows.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
